Kia's participation in the Super Bowl in 2019 was different than in all the years past - we were launching a new model and a new brand identity. "Give it Everything" became their new brand tag line and mantra for all things Kia. The Super Bowl spot was shot in West Point, GA and featured the people of the town and the factory. Out of this, grew the idea of The Great Unknowns Scholarship and website.
With less than a month, we designed the first two phases of the website. Tease which was a simple landing page asking user to come back on 2/3/19 after the full spot aired and we revealed what the website was about and full launch which included three new sections and drove to the scholarship application page. We built and QA-ed the tease phase in three days and built and QA-ed the launch phase in five, while still switching assets and not having a live video to test until hours before the launch - oh and that timing changed about 15 times from Sunday at 7 AM until Sunday at 2 PM.
The second part of the project was partnering with Scholarship America to set up The Great Unknowns Scholarship which aimed to find individuals who Give It Everything in their lives and are looking to continue their education. Setting up a scholarship is no easy task but that's the thing I love about being an integrated producer - no project is ever the same and I get to be challenged to learn a new skill every time.
